The Disability Council is the official advisory body to the NSW Government. The purpose of the Council is to provide the Minister for Disability Services and NSW Government with independent advice on matters that affect people with disability in NSW.

  • Benevolent Society takes over FACS Clinical supports

    2 March 2017 - Today the NSW Government announced that FACS specialist disability support teams would be transferred to the Benevolent Society, Australia's oldest charity. These services include case management, therapy and behaviour support.

  • Report on NDIS Payments Problems released

    PWC was commissioned to investigate the problems in the NDIS payments system that saw many service providers owed thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars for services provided under the NDIS to people with disability. The report has been released, and can be accessed at REPORT
