About the Council
The Disability Council of NSW is a key agency in the
complex network of government, non-government and commercial
organisations whose activities affect the lives of people
with disability, their families and close associates. We aim
to contribute to that network in ways that add value to our
partners so that we can work together to build a better
future for all people with disability. The Disability Council is something of a hybrid

Focus. This, our strategic directions document, sets out the
principles that guide our operational practice as we work to
fulfil our duties. We are aiming high and we are ambitious
to achieve substantial and significant progress for people
with disability and their families. We are committed to building and sustaining partnerships
across sectors around a shared purpose. It is our hope that,
as you read the documents on our web site, you will feel
encouraged by our goals and will want to work with us as we
organise to achieve them. To provide best quality advice to Government and promote
