Multicultural Disability Advocacy Association
The Multicultural Disability Advocacy Association of NSW (MDAA) is the peak body for people from a non-English speaking background (NESB) with disability and their families and carers in NSW.
NSW Attorney General's Department: disability services
On the 17th January the NSW Attorney Generals Department launched a website aimed at making the justice system more accessible to people who have a disability or who are from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.Developed by the Department’s Diversity Services unit, the website explains court processes in straight-forward language and provides information about how courts can accommodate individual requirements.
The new Diversity Services website explains how to request an interpreter, equipment or assistance when accessing the Department's services. The site also has links to relevant government, non government and support agencies services that may assist clients with disabilities or clients who are culturally and linguistically diverse.
